CATL Launched Sodium-Ion Battery Brand "Sodium New" and Introduced the Second-Generation Shenxing Ultra-Fast Charging Battery. On April 21, CATL unveiled its new sodium-ion battery brand "Sodium New" during the Super Technology Day event. The first product under the "Sodium New" brand, a 24V heavy-duty start-stop integrated battery, was also released and is set to enter mass production in June this year. CATL stated that the company has achieved technological breakthroughs in sodium-ion batteries, including improvements in energy density, cycle life, and safety. The energy density of its sodium-ion battery has reached 175 Wh/kg, with a lifespan exceeding 8 years.

In addition to the new sodium-ion battery brand, CATL also introduced the second-generation Shenxing ultra-fast charging battery, which is an LFP battery. According to CATL, this battery offers a driving range of 800 kilometers, with a peak charge rate close to 12C and a peak charging power exceeding 1.3 megawatts, enabling "5 minutes of charging for over 520 kilometers of driving range.
